Description
Exceptionally cold hardy and a prolific bloomer, Coral Delight Camellia is a Williamsii Hybrid that produces a plethora of beautiful semi-double flowers with vibrant coral-pink petals often randomly brushed in white that surround prominent bright, golden-yellow center stamens. In our Georgia gardens, the buds of Coral Delight begin opening as early as February and the plant is in full flower by March, which is a sight to behold! The deep green evergreen foliage provides the perfect backdrop for the bright flowers. Enjoy this beauty indoors by displaying several cuttings in a vase or float just one in a bowl of water. This one sailed through 3 degrees F with no problems at all at is reliably cold hardy to USDA Zone 6a. Find your zone
Landscape & Garden Uses
A mid-size grower with an upright habit of growth to about 6-8 feet tall and wide, Coral Delight Camellia can be grown as a shrub or small tree. As a shrub it is ideal for use as a specimen, in groupings, or as hedge or background plant in landscape borders and is especially nice as a corner plant or espalier (trained to grow flat against a wall) in home foundation plantings. As she grows taller, lower branches can be removed to form a highly attractive small evergreen tree that serves well as a focal point specimen in landscape borders and home foundation plantings. A fine addition to pink color theme gardens, camellia gardens, cottage gardens, cut flower gardens and woodland borders. Also suitable for containers that can be brought indoors during winter for those who live and garden above USDA Zone 7a, where this variety is not reliably winter hardy. Find Your Zone
Suggested Spacing:  5 feet apart for solid hedge; 12 feet apart for space between plants
Note:  For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6a, where this Camellia variety is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
Camellia adapt well to various soil types however prefer a moist but well-drained acidic soil that is rich in organic matter. Constantly soggy soil is a slow killer. In general, Camellia grows and blooms better in partial shade with some shelter from the hot afternoon sun. Morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sunlight is perfect. All-day filtered sun is fine.

Questions?  Contact Us
I’ve bought a bunch of plants several times now, and overall have been extremely happy. The only one I’ve been disappointed with was the coral delight camellia. It was a rooted cutting, a well rooted cutting, but looked like it was just newly rooted this year. It was very very small. The way you ship plants is fantastic, they are all healthy and in excellent condition when I receive them, the selection can’t be beat. Thank-you.—————————————————Anytime you have a problem, please contact Customer Service, we can usually resolve just about any issue you may have. Thanks for the kind words!
