Description
A miniature version of our native Eastern White Pine, Pinus strobus ‘Mini Twist’ is a perfect fit for small garden spaces and containers. It features small bunches of highly attractive needles that twist and curve in all directions. When young it has more of a rounded form however becomes pyramidal with age to maybe 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide when all grown up, or half that size with candle pruning. Mini Twist adds unusal and fantastic texture in the landscape and is sure to be a conversation piece, especially when positioned near patios and around other outdoor sitting and living spaces.
Landscape & Garden Uses
The Mini Twist Eastern White Pine is ideal for use as a specimen in small rock gardens, conifer gardens, miniature gardens and Asian gardens. It is also suitable for containers. Also a nice accent in home foundation plantings near an entryway, patio or other sitting areas.

Growing Preferences
The Mini Twist Eastern White Pine grows best in a moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and full sun, but will tolerate and appreciate some light afternoon shade in hot summer climates. As with so many other ornamental shrubs and trees, a constantly soggy soil can cause problems with the roots. Does not require pruning however can be trimmed annually in late winter to maintain a smaller plant or for very interesting topiary forms or bonsai.Â
